WHIRLWINDS
NEW VISTAS, HEAVENLY WHIRLWINDS AND COMMANDING AUTHORITY
We have entered a year of increase in the “seer” anointing, with new vistas to explore in the glory of God’s presence, but at the same time there will also be whirlwinds or turmoil. Many of His children have been experiencing unexpected whirlwinds in the form of health issues, financial turmoil, emotional havoc, relational stresses, problems in the family and business and even assaults on their faith. Many are feeling at a loss for answers, some going into despair, doubting God’s love and many are in tremendous stress and fear. The key to victory is in the “eye” of the storm where there is perfect peace.
HEAVENLY WHIRLWINDS:
As types and shadows, we know the “SUDDENLY” and “SEPARATION” that accompany whirlwinds. A glory portal was opened when Elijah was suddenly taken up by the Lord in a whirlwind and chariots of fire. (2 Kings 2). It left Elisha separated and alone, but with a new mantle and a double anointing. His eyes were on the glory, as he understood that the old dispensation had to come to an end for him to enter into his new season. Likewise we have to let go of the old to enter into the new. Instead of concentrating on the losses of your comfort zones, start focusing on and be positioned for the limitless grace of God in His supernatural creativity.
We have seen that earthly hurricanes have tornadoes in the outer swirls and they can cause a lot of damage. We also know that there is perfect peace in the “eye” of the storm. Eagles fly into the centre of the storm to be thrust upward high above the whirlwinds, so take your cue from them, taking shelter under the shadow of God’s wings in His abiding Presence, being taken up into heavenly encounters!
Heavenly whirlwinds may catch you up geographically, spiritually or emotionally, but God will do a work in us through it if we come to the center where the Prince of Peace reigns. God has not abandoned you, but He is waiting for you to run into the shelter of His Presence where you will find His empowering by resting in Him in quietness and full confidence that He is working out your destiny for His glory.
”This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength” Is.30:15 KJV
We have to learn to cast our cares on the Lord and to let go of our own plans and natural wisdom to try and get answers. It is interesting that the Lord Jesus says in Matt.11:28:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)
“Come and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly of heart” implies that trying to carry your own burden is actually a form of pride. Lowliness and meekness is not weakness, but strength in the Lord and the power of His might.
We must learn to live in the “eye” of each spirit-storm and know that in that place under the shadow of God’s wings He will protect us as well as empower us to use us in a greater way for His glory. He will also purify us in the process, refining us as silver, but as we put our trust in Him, He will work out in us an eternal and everlasting weight of glory. The glory of God is in the wind and He will have His way in the whirlwind and in the storm (Nahum 1:3) as you put your complete trust in Him.
Do not listen to the negative voices of the enemy as your mind comes under assault or you start feeling deserted, lonely and distressed. Get strengthened by the Word of the Lord in the secret place and stay your mind on Him in worship and adoration, so that your peace remains. (Is.26:3). God will never, never, never leave you, nor forsake you, but He will test your heart to see whether you will trust Him fully – even if you do not understand anything about what is happening around you.
If you are currently experiencing a whirlwind, I want to encourage you to close the door on the “noise” and come away into God’s presence, getting rid of all your burdens, worries, anxieties, doubt and fears by giving it to Jesus and He will give you rest. Repent of your pride, wanting to work things out in your own wisdom and strength. Let go of your control and put your full trust in Him.
When we truly trust God fully, all anxiety and stress cease and you come into His supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding. He will direct your mind and your path.
Proverbs 3:5-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5” Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.”
In the place of weakness and dependence on Him is your empowering.
“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” – II Cor. 12:9-10
This is the place where He will anoint you with fresh oil to be part of His special end-time forces. As you follow the voice of the Shepherd, you will sit at His banqueting table while your enemies have to look on. Your current whirlwind experience is evoking the sweet aroma of your worship and you are being trained to reign in fresh authority by the power of His name and the finished work of Calvary.
Whirlwinds are vertical experiences. If we trust God in the midst of it, He will blow out all the cobwebs and dead works and the wind will cause us to rise as incense, taking us into heavenly encounters each time so we can flow with the Spirit.
It’s in the swirling on the Potter’s wheel that we are centered in the Christ-life and in the fire of affliction that stability is forged and the shine of the anointing is worked from the inside out.
The whirlwinds are opportunities to soar into new heights in the spirit and grow in the knowledge of Christ. The disciples left everything and everyone of their affections behind to follow Jesus and He chose to teach them when they were alone with Him. Transplantations and isolation are the opportunities for great growth – the place to receive new mantles and fresh empowerment to do Kingdom exploits for God’s glory.
NEW AUTHORITY
Here is the secret: When you overcome the turmoil of the storm in your consciousness, you enter into His rest – resting from your own works and leaning into His power and ability. Do a reality check and listen to the sound that you carry in your mind and sub-conscious awareness. It will be known as soon as you open your mouth, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks – especially when you talk to yourself. You might find that your “faith declarations” do not correspond with what you carry in your consciousness. Remember that “As a man thinks in his hearts, so is he”. If your thinking (facts) and talking do not agree with the Word of God (truth) your storm might last a long time. So, take stock, repent if necessary and bring every part of your being in alignment with the truth of God’s Word, staying your mind on the Lord and His finished work of Calvary.
As you become quiet in worship, waiting on the Lord, seeking His face, He comes with revelation, counsel and direction and you receive fresh, divine perspective. God’s plans never fail, so you are assured of breakthrough into victory!
Now here is the exciting news: Whatever you gain victory over, you will have authority over! In this place you step into your true identity in Christ where you command the storm to be still and the enemy to go! Then you command things to come into divine order according to the Word of the Lord and in the power of the wonderful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and it will be so! Halleluja!
Grace and peace to you all
