This morning, as I was worshiping, I asked the Lord to speak to me by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Eph.1:17 -18). I was meditating on the Word in Is.55 (1-2), especially regarding the diligence to listen for God’s Word, to incline our ears with the intention to receive a Word from Him:
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
Suddenly I saw “building blocks” coming from heaven and deposited into the hearts of His people.
The Lord was revealing to me that His living Word is like “building blocks”, ready to be released from heaven according to the degree that we are ready (with ears inclined) to hear what He is saying as we meditate on His Word. Often His Word comes forth in “picture” form and we need to be ready to receive it in our hearts, asking the Father to release the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to reveal His heart to us.
Everything we hear or see by the Spirit of Truth will line up with the plumb-line of the written Word (Logos).
As we incline our ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, He releases the living Word (Rhema) from heaven as building blocks to deposit Himself in us by revelation or by prophecy, building His kingdom in us, transforming us, perfecting us, sanctifying us, establishing us IN HIM, until we are One.
I was reminded of the words of Jesus, saying “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matt.4:4 – referring to Deut.8:3)
“And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [a][of thought and study] you give [to [b]the truth you hear] will be the measure [c][of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.” (Mark 4:24)
This Living Word is also the sword of the Spirit by which we wage warfare against the enemy of our souls. His Word, launched against the enemy in authority of the Spirit, will demolish every lie that comes against us and will settle us in the mind of Christ to be more than conquerers in Him and by His power.
He works in progressive revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept as we seek His counsel. As we record what He says to us regarding a specific topic or situation in our lives, we will recognize the building blocks and the plumb-line of the Word will keep us in line with His desires and purposes.
It is true that His Word is spirit and life (John 6:33, 63; Acts 5:20). It is but “Hear, and your soul shall live.” (v.3) and that living Word, carrying the life and breath of the Holy Spirit, shall cause my soul to “delight itself in fatness”. When it is well with our soul (being grounded in the Word of God), the enemy cannot infiltrate our minds and emotions with his lies and even our bodies will be in good health. We will have faith and vision for our future in His purposes and destiny for our lives.
3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
Ps.1: “Blessed is the man” ……whose “delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
What glorious promises: Fruitfulness in all seasons and circumstances and what we do shall prosper, because it is the outflowing of His Word in obedience (not our own ideas and plans).
As I receive His Word by faith, meditating on it, digesting it, it becomes substance on the inside of me through my acceptance by faith and it is established as truth by which I live. As I respond back to Him in agreement with His instructions, I WILL declare His Word in agreement with Him, calling it forth in full assurance of faith, because it has become part of my belief system and it has become reality to me. My soul will delight itself in abundance as Jesus, the Living Word reveals Himself to me. Faith fills my heart as I can SEE the outcome according to His Word and my soul prospers in joy as I await the manifestation of it.
Isaiah 55:11-13
Amplified Bible (AMP)
“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Thus my inner man is built on the foundation of Christ as the Rock, being the Cornerstone with the building stones of the living Word and the Lord will complete the work in me by the Spirit of Grace as I grow in the knowledge of Christ.
“And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Eph.2:22
In the process we become living stones, being built into a spiritual house (the living organism of believers) to be a royal priesthood unto Him.
“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Pet.2:5
As we are being built up in Him by the Spirit and the Word, we become His co-labourers to minister the revelation of the Christ to others. What a glorious work of God!
“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” 1 Cor.3:9
So often we want to use our natural wisdom and reasoning to decide what we should do or what option to choose. This can lead to so much hassle and confusion and hay and stubble and shall be burnt by fire. The Lord wants us to be totally reliant on Him, simply inclining our ear to hear what the Spirit is saying, meditate on it to receive revelation from heaven and then walk out the prosperous path.
I want to encourage you to walk very dependent on the Lord, not leaning on your own understanding, but to “know” Him in all your ways and He will release the strategy that you need by His living Word through the Holy Spirit, making your path straight!
To top it off: God promises us the sure mercies of David, which speaks of His everlasting covenant with us in the Messiah. Covenant-mercies are all His goodness, blessings and grace that He has in store for us who walk in obedience to His Word. God’s gifts and callings are without repentance and in Christ the promises are all yea and amen. Those are the sure mercies of David, fulfilled in Christ Jesus.
I believe that the call of the Lord to the living waters is very real in this hour. He is calling us to a fresh hunger for the Word and thirst for the Spirit to make His Word alive in our hearts, being the bread of life to sustain us and to be the lamp for our feet and the light for our paths.
Blessings
